TEODORA DIMITROVA
Teodora Dimitrova was born in 1968 in Sofia. She graduated from the Sofia Musical High School “Lubomir Pipkov” in 1987 with specialty Piano. The same year she was admitted in the State Music Academy “Pancho Vladigerov” and specialized in Conducting, Theory of music, and Organ. She graduated from the Academy in 1992 as MA.
While a student in the Academy, she collaborated with some eminent Bulgarian choirs: Female Choir “Hristina Morfova”, Children’s Choir of the Bulgarian Radio, Chamber Choir “Collegium Musicum”, Mixed Choir “K. Kirkorov”, Chamber Choir “Sv. Josif”, and with the Bulgarian National Radio Musical Editorial Board.
In 1996, Teddy founded the Children’s Choir “Slavianska beseda”, and in 1997:
the Chamber Ensemble “Te Deum Adoramus”. She has performed as a pianist and conductor on many Bulgarian, as well as international concert stages: in Israel, Finland, Japan, Mexico, the USA, Romania, Slovakia, Greece, Italy, Poland, Hungary, Turkey, F.Y.R.O.M., Serbia, Spain, Switzerland, Belgium, The Netherlands, Portugal and France. She has made records for the Bulgarian National Radio, the Bulgarian National Television and has released CDes. She has participated in numerous international seminars in choir music held in Bulgaria, Greece, and Sweden. She has lead masterclasses and workshops in Sweden and the Netherlands. In May 2000, Teodora Dimitrova got the Conductor’s prize at the XIXth International Festival for Orthodox Church Music in Hajnuwka, Poland, in 2011 – the diploma “Best conductor” at the Ist International festival “Chernomorski zvuci”, Balchik, Bulgaria, in 2012 – best conductor diploma at the IInd International choral competition – Freamunde, Portugal. Member of the Association of Bulgarian Choral Directors.
